"Today, the future is showing us two directions: one is connection and collaboration, the second one is control and cocooning. We are asking art out so that together we can welcome a better, co-created future. We aim for cross-collaborations, audience engagement, dynamic display of art. Our goal is to archive “the moment” we are passing through for the future generations of artists. For this “e-motional edition” of "Spazi Aperti", we are encouraging artists to express themselves through mediums they never used before, to be experimental, to be open to collaboration, to create content, to intervene, to transform and adapt, allowing the art to metamorphose day by day, minute by minute, with each intervention."

—  Spazi Aperti ISSUE #18 | Rome, 2020

SPAZI APERTI ISSUE #10

In its 10th edition, Spazi Aperti was curated by Eleonora Farina and consisted of an exhibition, a series of parallel events and a debate/discussion proposed and coordinated by both the Azienda Speciale Palaexpo and Accademia di Romania to present the project’s institutional network and for taking stock of the ten year common work.

SPAZI APERTI ISSUE #16

Spazi Aperti was created in 2002 by Accademia di Romania in Rome with the main goal of bringing together and supporting the international artists’ community, in residency in all Academies and Cultural Institutes in Rome. The 16th Edition was curated by Andrada Catavei and had on display over 25 projects.

SPAZI APERTI ISSUE #17

The annual art exhibition has two points of attraction: it invites artists to use the atypical spaces of Accademia di Romania to exhibit their works, stimulating their creativity and offering them a new perspective of art interaction with the audience and encourages artists to collaborate on projects made for and in these particular spaces.
